Ocean City Parade Honors Firemen Lost in Line of Duty

Sykesville VFD

There was a parade in Ocean City yesterday.

And, it honored those firefighters who have been lost in the line of duty.

The celebration was held by the Maryland State Firemen’s Association.

Many of the retired firefighters also recalled the fire trucks they once rode before Ocean City put the Tower T-1 truck into service.

Capitol Heights Volunteer fire Department volunteer Charlie Daldi told the Salisbury Daily Times that he has seen 30 parades with his department in attendance for the last 50 years.

Overhead there was a new Maryland State Police helicopter from which a man waved to the crowd below.
