H2Oi Facebook page

Ocean City is getting ready for the H2Oi car show this coming weekend.

These are generally heavily modified Volkswagen and Audi vehicles that are water cooled.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that during last year’s event there were 773 service calls.

That was down from over a thousand in 2014.

In addition, there were 34 arrests last year compared to the 2014 figure of 53.

Ocean City police are working with five other agencies including sheriff’s offices in Wicomico, Worcester and Queen Anne’s counties as well as the Maryland State Police and the Maryland State Transportation Authority.

Bill Goodwin, president of the classic car club Ocean City Cruzers, told the Daily Times that it is the attitude of the drivers who are looking to burn rubber do donuts and cause problems.
