Occupy Delaware Condemns Mortgage Foreclosure
Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden's decision to sign a mortgage settlement with five banks over alleged foreclosure abuses is not setting well with some Delaware residents.
Newark resident Bernard August, a member of Occupy Delaware, says in his opinion, the deal does more to protect banks than homeowners.
Attorney General Biden signed the settlement last week, after several revisions were made. Occupy Delaware condemned the settlement, arguing that Delaware foreclosures should come to a halt until all abuse charges are resolved.
In a statement, Biden said that while the settlement is not perfect, it will provide protections for Delaware homeowners and provide restitution to a portion of residents whose homes have been foreclosed upon.
