OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - The town of Ocean City is set to have an upgraded fireworks show for the end of Labor Day weekend.

The Daily Times of Salisbury reports the upgraded fireworks will be displayed Sept. 3 at the "Sundaes in the Park" event in Northside Park. The event will also feature live music and activities for children before the 9 p.m. display.

The event is being pegged as a chance for the town to make up for a disappointing glitch at this year's Fourth of July fireworks shows.

Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan said in a town release that the Labor Day event will give the town the opportunity to provide a quality fireworks presentation that locals and visitors have come to expect.
