OC Council Member Complains About Free Golf Course Passes

Eagle's Landing Golf Course, eagleslandinggolf.com

Ocean City Council Member Brent Ashley says he is not happy that the city is issuing hundreds of free passes to the resort’s Eagle’s Landing Golf Course instead of making them available to charity fundraising efforts.

Ashley charged that there was no accountability and said no limits were put on the passes nor to whom they went.

He said this represented thousands of dollars in lost revenue.

Mayor Rick Meehan said the gold card program was discontinued in March of this year but they were still being honored at Eagle’s Landing.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that since then the number of cards being handed out have fallen sharply.

In the past, the paper says, that several people would hand out free play passes under their municipal employer or as an elected officials.
