Eastern Shore Virginians eat too much, drink too much and die too early.

That’s the conclusion of a new health survey that found Accomack Countyranked 91 out of 131 counties under the 2012 County Health Rankings.

The Salisbury Daily Timesreports that the problem behaviors ranged from obesity and smoking to physical inactivity and excessive drinking.

It found that 22 percent of adults in Accomack smoked while 33 percent of adults were obese.

Accomack residents also lost around 9-thousand years to premature death.

The study was done in collaboration with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
