NRG Plant Clean Energy Conversion Celebrated in Dover

nrgthermal.com

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Members of Delaware's congressional delegation are joining state officials in celebrating the conversion of a coal-fired power plant in Dover to cleaner-burning natural gas.

Officials planned to gather Friday at the NRG Energy Center in Dover to tout the facility's conversion to a high-efficiency combined-cycle natural gas facility.

Officials say NRG worked for a year on the conversion, which they say will reduce air emissions while providing clean, reliable and cost-effective power.
