HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - The new owner of the Rocky Gap Casino Resort in western Maryland is in no hurry to make changes.
Golden Entertainment Inc. Chairman Blake Sartini said Monday his company plans a patient approach to running the hotel, golf course and gambling facilities.
Sartini says he's pleased with Rocky Gap's management team. He says his Las Vegas-based company will study the market before considering improvements in the resort's offerings, possibly starting with food and beverage services.
The casino near Cumberland is the smallest in Maryland, with about 600 slot machines. But it's the largest of four conventional casinos owned by Golden Entertainment. The others are in Pahrump, Nevada.
The publicly traded company was formed by the merger Monday of Sartini Gaming Inc. and Rocky Gap's former owner, Minnesota-based Lakes Entertainment Inc.
