DOVER, Del. (AP) - President Donald Trump's pick for the United States Attorney for Delaware has been sworn in.
WDEL-FM reports David C. Weiss was sworn in Thursday after the U.S. Senate confirmed his nomination earlier this month. Weiss had been serving as acting U.S. attorney since March 2017, and was nominated to take over the position permanently in November.
Weiss previously served as interim U.S. attorney, first assistant U.S. attorney and as an assistant federal prosecutor, handling cases of violent crimes and white-collar offenses. He's also worked as a commercial litigator and partner at Duane Morris and an executive at a financial services firm.
Weiss had the support of Delaware's senators, Democrats Tom Carper and Chris Coons.
