A 17-screen all-digital movie theater complex is coming to the Christiana Mall.
It will be located at the northeastern section along route I 95.
The announcement is part of an effort by the Mall to make it an entertainment destination.
The Cinemark center is expected to open in the spring of 2014 and follows the announcement of a Cabela’s outdoor gear store to open in the same year.
The new theater will compete with the state’s first IMAX theater that is set to open in November on the Wilmington Riverfront just a couple of I 95 exits from the Mall.
The Wilmington News Journal reports the announcement of the compete comes when there has been a national contraction of the theater industry.
