More details are emerging from the shooting of a student from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore last Sunday.

Devin Johnson was walking to meet with Toren Tilghman early that morning so they could walk back to Johnson’s home.

Tilghman was jumped by two women from a nearby car.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that when Johnson tried to intervene 26-year old Tyshon Hobson got out of the car after the two women got back into the car.

As Johnson and Tilghman fled the scene they heard gunshots and Johnson was hit in the leg.

The paper reports that Johnson and Hobson did not know each other.

Nor was Hobson a student at UMES.

The other two women have not been identified by authorities.

Meanwhile, Hobson is also facing a federal charges for conspiracy to distribute and possession of illegal drugs including cocaine and heroin.
