SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - Salisbury Police say a sewing needle was found in a teenager's trick-or-treat candy.

Police say the family called officers Sunday evening after a 15-year-old found the needle lodges inside one piece of a Twizzlers. The youth told his parents, who called police. No one was injured.

Officers say the outside of the package showed no signs of tampering.

Authorities say the family went trick-or-treating on Saturday.

Police and the FBI are investigating the incident. Officers urged parents to check children's candy before it is eaten.
