Naval Academy Midshipmen Do "Naptown Funk" Video

Naval Academy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A group of Naval Academy midshipmen can be seen shimmying and strutting while lip-synching to a song they created in their latest spirit video, entitled "Naptown Funk."

The video was filmed in October in Annapolis, and can now be watched online.

Senior Midshipman Ryan Tuohy was the creative force behind the production. He and collaborators rewrote lyrics to Mark Ronson's hit song, "Uptown Funk," and created a video that closely resembles the popular song's video, including scenes in a local barbershop, synchronized dance moves, and a city street. The Naptown Funk video exclusively features current midshipmen as actors and dancers.

The lyrics challenge the Navy cities of San Diego; Norfolk, Virginia; and Chicago to answer with their own spirit films.
