Maryland State Police say there has been a murder suicide in Wicomico County over the weekend that has left one man dead and another in critical condition.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that police say on Saturday 25 year-old Evan Gottlieb of Berlin was found dead in his victim’s stolen pickup truck of a self-inflicted wound.

65 year-old Blair Ranneberger suffered from gunshot wounds and was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where reported to be in critical condition.

Police say that their investigation has found that Ranneberger was talking with Gottleib at the front door of his home in Willards when he was shot.

According to authorities Gottlieb was demanding the keys to Ranneberger’s pickup claiming police were after him.

Police say after he got the keys Gottlieb shot Ranneberger and fired at his wife who was able to escape.
