SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police say a man has been indicted on murder charges in the fatally shooting of a man in Salisbury.

A Wicomico County grand jury returned an indictment Monday against 22-year-old Delonte Bryant of Salisbury. He is charged with first- and second-degree murder and other offenses in the death of 21-year-old Dommeir Deshields of Salisbury.

Troopers say on Aug. 3, officers from the Salisbury Police Department responding to reports of a shooting, found Deshields lying in the street suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at a hospital.

Police say Deshields was walking on the street when someone approached him and shot him.

Bryant is being held in prison on other charges.
