Muggs N' Juggs Coffee Shop Causes Stir in Laurel

Don Rush

There’s a new coffee shop in Laurel, Delaware.

And it’s causing quite a stir.

It’s called Muggs N’ Juggs and it’s barristas are bikini clad.

The shop opened its doors on Sunday at the corner of routes 9 and 13.

But it was shut down on Wednesday by the Department of Health and Social Services.

WBOC reports that state officials did not provide exact details but said that the store will have to wait until it gets permission to reopen.

Owner Tommie Kush said he was frustrated but that the repairs ordered by the state could be done quickly and easily.

Kush also says he will apply for a temporary 14 day permit to allow him to reopen this week.

But the television station says at least one person wasn’t so happy.

Ruth Lecates inside the nearby Shell Station told WBOC that she was uncomfortable with the attire said her main concern was children who would be returning to school soon.
