Mother of Jeremy McDole Arrested for Alleged Assault Over 911 Caller

YouTube

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Officials say the mother of a Delaware man in a wheelchair who was fatally shot by police has been accused of assaulting a woman she thought made a 911 call about her son.

Officials said the woman Phyllis McDole allegedly assaulted was not the woman who made a 911 call last week about a man who had shot himself and was still armed with a gun. Police say officers fatally shot 28-year-old Jeremy McDole after he ignored commands to drop his weapon and reached toward his waist.

Authorities said Phyllis McDole turned herself in Monday, but details of her arrest were not immediately available Tuesday.

Last week, McDole interrupted a news conference by city officials about the shooting, saying her son was not armed and that the shooting was unjust.
