Misconduct Complaint Filed Against Salisbury Police

Salisbury Police Badge

A misconduct complaint has been filed in federal district court  stemming from an incident at the Monkey Barrel and Restaurant last May across the street from Salisbury University.

Curtis Adams was one three men who were arrested and have filed the complaint.

Adams says he was peacefully walking away when police ordered people out of the restaurant.

The police report says that Adams began yelling at the officer and then ignored an order to stop when he began to walk away.

WMDT reports that a surveillance video shows that the officer allegedly made contact with Adams and pulled him toward the pedestrian tunnel which runs under Route 13.

The television station reports after being referred to Mayor Jim Ireton it was told that the Mayor stands by the police report but that after the release of the video the case will be re-examined.
