This week the American Civil Liberties Union has filed suit on behalf of a Milton woman when she was prohibited from displaying signs denouncing policies of president Trump.
They included phrases such as “Love Trumps Hate”, “No Wall No Ban” and “Women’s Rights = Human Rights”.
62-year old Penny Nickerson said she felt compelled to put them in her front yard over concern about the current president.
But the Milton code only allows political messages during an election season.
The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Kathleen McRae, executive director of the ACLU in Delaware, said this was the first time her organization had heard of such a thing.
The paper reports that the town attorney declined to comment.
