Millville Considers Conduct Manual for Civic Volunteer Group

Town officials are looking at drawing up a set of policies for the Millville Volunteer Group.

Town Manager Debbie Botchie told the Wilmington News Journal that a manual would explain the dos and don’ts…when representing the city as a volunteer.

Council member Robert Gordon, who is the municipality’s liaison to the group, noted there haven’t been any problems yet but there were concerns about what they should be doing.

The manual would include how volunteers should conduct themselves …while driving a neighborhood watch vehicle as well as a dress code. when representing the town.

The group has 26 volunteers, which helps to direct traffic at town events as well as assisting with activities like Camp Barnes and the annual artisans’ festival at the local firehouse.

The Town Council is set to consider the proposal for a manual and could vote next Tuesday.
