Michael Killian, who took over as editor of The Salisbury Daily Times just two years ago, is leaving to become news director of Enquirer Media Group based in Cincinnati.
He oversaw major changes in the newsroom as well as overseeing eight weekly newspapers and the delmarvanow.com website.
Killian told the paper that the Delmarva Media Group had shown a strong embrace for watchdog reporting and digital journalism.
Before coming to the Daily Times Killian was associate editor at the Burlington Free Press in Vermont.
Laura Benedict Sileo, the Web production editor the Delmarva Media Group, will serve as interim executive editor during the search for a permanent replacement.
She has been with the company for the last 13 years.
