Meals on Wheels Struggles With Rising Gas Prices

High gas prices are hitting the Meals on Wheels program hard in Salisbury.

Budget cuts have meant fewer meals for only the most desperate cases.

Volunteer Gordon Gladden told WBOC-TV that many times he has paid for his own gas.

He adds that some are finding it hard to keep up with the rising cost of fuel.

Gladden said that the Rotary Club began delivering Meals on Wheels at least ten years ago.
