MD Trooper Swerved to Avoid Debris in May Accident

Don Rush

The Maryland State Police sergeant involved in a single-vehicle accident in May apparently swerved to avoid debris sending him off the road.

The Maryland State Police say that Sgt. Anthony Myers had been driving his vehicle westbound on the Salisbury Bypass at around 9:40 p.m. in early May.

After swerving to avoid the debris in the road, he struck a guardrail and plunged down the embankment striking trees before finally overturning.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the police report says there was no evidence of substance use nor was there any indication that the 45 Myers was distracted.
