CAMBRIDGE, Md. (AP) - A Maryland state trooper has been suspended after he was arrested on an assault charge.

Maryland State Police tell media outlets that trooper Kenneth N. Moore was suspended with pay after Cambridge police charged him with one count of second-degree assault Saturday in Dorchester County.

The Cambridge Police Department notified the Maryland State Police that they had responded to a complaint of an assault from Moore's wife Saturday night.

The Maryland State Police Internal Affairs Unit has initiated an administrative investigation, while the Cambridge Police Department has begun conducting a criminal investigation.

It's unclear if Moore has an attorney.
