Those taking advantage of community college in Maryland will be getting a break from the state when it comes to their tuition.
Governor Larry Hogan has signed a law that would cover up to $5-thousand of tuition after scholarships and grants are accounted for.
Students must also maintain a 2.5 grade point average and be enrolled for at least 12 credits per semester.
In addition, they must either have graduated from high school or earned a GED within the last two years before entering college.
Students must also work in Maryland for every year they are in the program.
The measure will go into effect in the next academic year and cost the state around $15 million.
