ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland officials have met with leaders of a manufacturing company that has announced plans to leave Salisbury to discuss how to help about 500 people who work at the Eastern Shore facility.
Sen. Barbara Mikulski's office says the senator and Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford met Tuesday with leaders from Labinal Power System's parent company, Safran North America.
Mikulski's office says plans call for working with local officials to help find a new employer for the facility.
Labinal plans to assign an employee to explore job opportunities at other regional employers. The company plans to develop an inventory of skills of current employees to determine how they could be matched with other area employers.
The facility is set to close at the end of next year. Operations are moving to Texas.
