MD Attorney General Doug Gansler to Join Law Firm

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler is joining a District of Columbia law firm when he finishes his second term in January.

Gansler announced Tuesday that he's joining BuckleySandler and will play a leading role in its government enforcement and litigation practices.

He also plans to help clients comply with regulatory expectations on cybersecurity and privacy.

Gansler has been attorney general since 2007. He is a former president of the National Association of Attorneys General. Gansler was Montgomery County's state's attorney before becoming attorney general. He was an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia from 1992 to 1998.

Gansler ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination for governor of Maryland this year.
