Maryland Senate Committee Considers Table Games

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A Senate committee is expected to vote on a measure to expand gambling in Maryland.

A vote by the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee could come as soon as Friday morning.

The measure would allow table games like blackjack and craps at Maryland casinos, which currently only allow slot machines.

The bill also would allow a casino in Prince George's County. That would be in addition to the five casinos currently allowed under state law. Only two have opened so far. A third is scheduled to open this summer in Anne Arundel County.
