Maryland Promotes Craft Beer and Baseball

Don Rush

It is baseball and craft beer.

That’s the theme of the latest efforts by the Maryland Department of Tourism.

Officially called the Maryland Baseball and Brew Scorecard the summertime promotion is aimed at encouraging travel across the state.

The scorecards can be picked up at participating breweries and Maryland Welcome Centers.

And when they are all filled out there are prizes.

Comptroller Peter Franchot says it is a way to celebrate to great Maryland traditions.

“Anybody who is interested in seeing our beautiful state and also visiting these great independent breweries that produce wonderful Maryland beer go visit them. And then if they have a chance if you’re in Salisbury go check the Shorebirds out. This is great baseball and have a great Maryland brew while you’re at it.”

There are nearly 60 breweries participating in the promotion across the state.
