ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Republican Larry Hogan is set to be sworn in as Maryland's 62nd governor.

The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday in front of the Maryland State House in Annapolis.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who campaigned several times for his Republican colleague in Maryland, is scheduled to attend to congratulate Hogan for winning in a heavily Democratic state.

An inaugural gala is scheduled at the Baltimore Convention Center Wednesday night.

Hogan campaigned largely on fiscal issues, and he has been focusing on budget matters during the transition. Hogan has scheduled a news conference Thursday to talk about the state budget.
