Marchers Hold Rally Day Before Electoral College Casts Ballots

It was called a Silent Solidarity March for Unity, Justice and Equal Rights.

Around two dozen people gathered on Main Street in Newark yesterday to raise their concerns about feeling marginalized by the election of Donald Trump to the White House.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Reverend Derrick Porter told the marchers that the discourse of the country must change.

The paper reports that following the election in November students at the University of Delaware expressed concern and fear about the impact of the election when it comes to issues of race and sexual orientation.

The marchers met just one day before members of the Electoral College cast their ballots for president and vice president.

Even though Trump won the electoral vote by more than 300 votes he lost the popular vote to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton by nearly 3 million.
