Manned Flights From Wallop's Flight Facility?

nasa.gov

Could we see astronauts being launched from nearby Wallops Island Flight Facility?

That’s what the Las Vegas based company Bigelow Aerospace wants to do.

Mike Gold, director of DC Operations and Business Growth told WBOC, that his company is hoping to make such a proposal to NASA that would including launching people from Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

This would require some upgrades which would mean construction jobs for the area.

The company builds what are called space habitats.

Two of them have already been launched and a third is expected to be sent to the International Space Station next year.

But the company’s ambitions don’t stop there.

Gold says his company would like to ultimately to the moon.
