NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Police say a man wanted for calling in false reports of a shooter at Newark's Christiana Hospital has surrendered.

Delaware State Police announced Friday that 20-year-old Jackie Cosden of Newark turned himself in to troopers Thursday.

Police say Cosden used one of the hospital's phones on Wednesday to report that someone was shooting a gun on hospital grounds, then called back with a similar claim.

Authorities from multiple departments responded to the hospital, but found no evidence of a gunman.

Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale said says investigators were able to trace the source of the call and identify Cosden as the caller.

Cosden was charged with terroristic threatening, falsely reporting an incident and malicious interference with emergency communications. He's being held on $5,000 bond.
