OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police say preliminary autopsy results found signs that a man who died after he was arrested on drug charges by Ocean City police had ingested cocaine.

Troopers said in a news release Monday that the autopsy of 37-year-old Jerry Weston of Greenwood, Delaware, found no external injuries that would have killed him.

Weston died at a hospital Sunday.

Weston had been taken to the hospital from the booking facility. State police say he told medical workers he had ingested cocaine.

Troopers say the autopsy showed pieces of latex and a substance believed to be cocaine in Weston's digestive track.

Ocean City police say they called an ambulance after Weston complained of breathing difficulty.

Police spokeswoman Lindsay Richard says Weston was black, and the arresting officer is white.
