Lower Shore Cities Gearing Up for Tuesday's National Night Out

Along with communities across the county Lower Shore cities will be marking the National Night Out.

Tuesday’s celebration of the fight against crime sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch bringing neighbors and police together.

Eight cities on the Lower Shore will be participating this year including Salisbury, Fruitland, Crisfield, Berlin, Pocomoke City, Snow Hill and Ocean City

There will be free food and activities to mark the occasion.

Col. Ivan Barkley with the Salisbury Police Department told the Daily Times that the biggest benefit of the event is just giving the community a reason to come together.

In Snow Hill Trische Green assistant to the town manager and chair for the town’s local Night Out committee told the paper that it also gives neighbors a chance to meet each other.

Crisfield will see such activities as painting and a waterslide while in Princess Anne police will hold a Taser demonstration.
