Salisbury lost one of its own this month.
Elizabeth Conti Bellavance died from cancer on July 24th at the age of 77.
In 1980 she came to Salisbury University with her husband Thom Bellavance who became its sixth president.
During the next two decades she spent her time working and promoting the university’s development and was a founding member and longtime supporter of Delmarva Public Radio which went on the air during her husband’s tenure.
Bellavance also became a strong advocate for the Hispanic community on the Eastern Shore studying Spanish while in her 60’s.
Finally, she was a founding member of Coastal Hospice where she was known for her dedication and hard work.
She will be missed.
