A Little More Restricted Air Space for Wallops Flight Facility

nasa.gov

The NASA Wallops Flight Facility is getting a little more breathing room at least for its experimental flights.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the Federal Aviation Administration gave the green light to allow the facility to double the amount of its restrictive airspace.

But the paper reports that local pilots must be notified at 12 hours in advance of such flights among other concessions to the local area.

There have delays in test flights at the facility because of other aircraft in the area.

Agencies supporting the plan include the Virginia Department of Aviation as well as the business group Wallops Island Regional Alliance.
