Largest Shopping Center Plans Get Look by Sussex County Council

TD Rehoboth LLC

Developers of the Overbrook Town Center project told the Sussex County Council that it could cost $15 million for an important highway interchange.

That’s double what the company says it is willing to put toward the cost.

Yesterday was the first time the council had a chance to get testimony on what would be the largest shopping center in the county.

TD Rehoboth LLC is asking that the county rezone the 114 acres for commercial use.

The developers expect there to be national brand anchor stores and said the lack of a sales tax in Delaware would be a big draw for shoppers.

But there were concerns.

Council member Bob Arlett said he has heard from residents about the potential for traffic congestion.
