Jobs Coming to Seaford

115 new jobs will be coming to Seaford.

That’s the word from Governor Jack Markell during his State of the State address yesterday to a joint session of the General Assembly.

ILC Dover, which makes items like spacesuits for NASA will be getting hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to bring the Grayling Industry’s manufacturing operations from Mexico to the First State.

State Representative Danny Short called the news an opportunity for vast numbers of people to bet jobs.

The Grayling production line in Mexico produces products ranging from food packaging and pharmaceuticals to asbestos abatement.

The state says hiring will begin in April and run through the end of 2013.

The company says it expects to eventually hire around 500 people once all of the positions are filled.
