Jay Shoup says His H2Oi Event Has Gotten a Bad Rap

H2Oi Facebook page

Jay Shoup the founder of H2O International has posted a letter critical of the way Ocean City official have dealt with the 20 year old car event.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that he believes there are misconceptions about it.

Among other things he says that his car show should not be blamed for the actions of a few who have no connection to H2Oi.

Shoup says his event has gotten unfair reputation and noted that other gatherings like Cruisin’ and OC BikeFest have seen unwanted activity.

The paper reports that he has even offered to pay for more law enforcement and to help clean up afterward.

He has also offered to donate to the Ocean City police department as a goodwill gesture.

But he described Ocean City leaders as elusive.
