J-Turn: Solution to Route 113 Intersection on Snow Hill Road

Accident Report, 123rf.com

There could be a solution to the dangerous intersection of Routes 113 and 12 where dozens of car accidents have occurred in the last few years.

It’s called the J-turn which will be placed at the intersections of Route 113 and Snow Hill Road as well as Route 113 and Route 346 or Public Landing Road.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that the J-turn is merely an elongated U-turn.

It prevents drivers from cutting across Route 113.

Donnie Drewer, district engineer with the State Highway Administration, told the paper that they will have to turn right and make a U-turn around 2-tenths of a mile down from the intersection.

No price tag has been attached to the project but Drewer said there is $400-thousand on hand for its design.

But there are no funds yet to do the work.
