Irish Student Dies After Cardiac Arrest While Swimming

An Irish student has died after suffering cardiac arrest while swimming off Ocean City on August 2nd.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Irish Times says 22-year-old Philip Leahy died on August 6th.

Atlantic General Hospital confirmed his death but did not provide any more details.

The paper reports that Ocean City officials say that Leahy was one of four swimmers who needed to be rescued by lifeguards.

The Beach Patrol applied CPR on Leahy who was then taken to Atlantic General Hospital where he died four day later.
