Church Website

Dana Truitt has been identified as the women who was injured in the November 26th fire at the St. Paul’s By The Sea Episcopal Church in Ocean City which killed the Reverend David Dingwall.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that Bob Rothermel, a vestry member who spoke on behalf of St. Paul’s, confirmed that she was the hospitalized person.

She is now at the burn unit of Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore.

Truitt was initially sent to Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

Her injuries were sustained from the self-immolation of 56-year old John Sterner of Ocean City who ran into the church starting the fire.

The paper reports that Ocean City authorities earlier said the woman suffered serious injuries after being hugged by a man who set himself on fire before entering the church basement.
