Hurlock Medical Center Closure Causes Local Concern

all-free-download.com

The Hurlock Medical Center will be closing its doors within the next few weeks but there is a facility that is 7 miles away in Federalsburg that will be able to take on the load.

The CEO of Choptank Community Health System Joe Sheehan said that the facility was just simply not cost effective.

But, the May 17th closure announcement has caused many to call local officials with their concerns.

Mayor Joyce Spratt told WBOC that her phone has been ringing off the hook as well as seeing messages on her Facebook.

Choptank Community Health Systems says it realizes that the closure will create some inconvenience and Hurlock town officials say they are making the closure their top priority.
