The producers of “Ping Pong Summer” got plenty of takers from people who wanted to be extras for the filming in Ocean City.

They recently lined up inside the Holiday Inn at 67th Street hoping for a shot the local independent film.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports that there were many who came from as far as a three hour drive while others simply walked from their homes to the audition.

Local resident 68-year old Alfred Jones ended up being one of the people chosen by producers for a one-on-one audition because he had the right look for one of the small speaking roles.

The film is set in the summer of 1985 and recounts the vacation of a boy and his family in Ocean City.
