Henrietta Lacks: The Woman Who Changed Science Forever

family photo

Henrietta Lacks may not be a household name, but this African American woman who died of cancer in 1951 has probably touched your life. Delmarva Public Radio's Don Rush talked with her grandson David Lacks about how scientists used her cancer cells for research -- cells that live onto this day.

David Lacks will be appearing with his sister on the campus of Salisbury University this Thursday.

Don Rush is the News Director at Delmarva Public Media. An award-winning journalist, Don reports major local issues of the day, from sea level rise, to urban development, to the changing demographics of Delmarva.
