BETHESDA, Md. (AP) - The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has endorsed Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown in Maryland's gubernatorial race.
The Brady campaign, which announced the endorsement Tuesday, cited Brown's support for a gun-control law enacted last year. The law bans 45 assault weapons and limits gun magazines to 10 rounds. It also requires handgun buyers to submit fingerprints to state police.
Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign, also cited an endorsement by the National Rifle Association for Brown's opponent, Republican Larry Hogan. While Hogan has said he would not seek to change the law if elected, he has declined to release an NRA questionnaire in which the group gave Hogan a grade of A-minus.
