Grimaldi Case Moves to Sussex County

official photos

There’s been a change of venue for the lawsuit brought by former New Castle County Administrative Officer David Grimaldi for wrongful discharge.

It will now be heard in Sussex County by Judge E. Scott Bradley.

There is no indication about why the change was made.

Grimaldi was fired last October by New Castle County Executive Tom Gordon and the county.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that Grimaldi says he was dismissed because he revealed -- what he described as  – the manipulation in county hiring and spending.

In addition, he raised questions about the influence of the risk manager on Gordon.

But Gordon counters that Grimaldi was fired because he had created conflict in the office and comments during a traffic stop.
