Governor Larry Hogan signed a set of tax relief bills yesterday that were part of his campaign last year.
The Maryland Republican put his signature on a measure that repeals the so-called rain tax or storm water fee.
The Democratically dominated legislature eliminated the fee but still requires local jurisdictions to deal with storm water runoff that is one causes of pollution in the Chesapeake Bay.
The governor also signed a measure that would give veterans over the age of 65 some tax relief.
It would increase the amount of their military pension that can be excluded from their gross income from $5-thousand to $10-thousand.
