A murder-for-hire scheme has resulted in the arrests of four people in Accomack County.

The County Sheriff told the Salisbury Daily Times that the arrests came after an investigation into the shooting of a witness on Halloween night.

The incident took place on Linhaven Circle near Painter where authorities found a 31-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman had suffered gunshot wounds.

The two were taken to Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.

Those arrested were 42-year-old Evron Strand, 22-year-old Aaron Bowens, 19-year-old Roquan Rogers and 51-year-old Cynthia Harmon.

They face charges involving attempted murder and murder for hire.
